Join our guests this afternoon for another installment of great Arizona music on the AZ MUSIC CAFÉ program!
This week’s show is a Sampler show that will feature over 20 songs from a variety of talented local artists, most of whom were kind enough to leave us some of their music after making their appearance. We try to reciprocate in kind by playing it on the show as kind of a Casey Kasem meets Arizona radio show . Its fun, informative and opens the door to as wide a variety of music as we can muster up in 2 hours. You won’t want to miss it!
Today we are featuring Eric Laubach, Sunset Route, Wayward Maggie, Michael Levin, Dirty Lingo, Wick and Cole, Whitney Steele, Rachel Oludiji, as well as old favorites Daisy Mallory and Todd Baio. Plus we have a special guitar segment from Norman Haight’s “Love Haight Guitars” CD, featuring some beautiful contributions from Stan Sorensen, Billy Cioffi and the master guitar maker himself as well as others.
You won’t want to miss this very special show. Thanks for tuning in!
Tune in at 3pm! Don’t miss a minute!

Derek Astles was on his way to the show when mechanical difficulties sidelined him. He is a very talented singer and songwriter and we will have him back on the show in the future.
Kevin Brennan is an amazing guitarist who plays jazz, folk, country and a little Latin to boot! We will be hearing his instrumental compositions on today’s show and catch up with him on what he is up to in the valley over the next few months. Don’t miss him or his new Cordoba Guitar!
Jack Couchman is a regular at the Blooze and Playa, and classifies himself as metal, rock, progressive. We’ll let you decide when you hear him on today’s show. He is currently working on a new band “My Utopia” and also plays solo.
Jeff Shaffer joins us also on the program. Jeff took a long hiatus raising a family and is tiptoeing his way back into the music world. We are very glad to welcome him to the AZ MUSIC CAFE program. Jeff plays keyboards, guitar and has written a lot of music over the years. Welcome him to the program.
Special Guest Rhonda Towns will be joining us as well and we are always glad to see her and hear what she has been up to. Today she will be sharing news of a benefit coming up for the holidays and sharing some updates to her musical career as well

We are very excited to welcome Tori Sparks to the valley, and unlike most promotional efforts, we are actually telling you all about her at the end of her Phoenix Tour, but hey, thats ok! Due to the miracles of modern technology, you can find her 24/7 on her website and of course, we will have her appearance here on the podcast forever, or at least for awhile. (Forever, or at least for awhile…..hmm…) But we digress! Tori is an amazing songwriter and performer and you won’t want to miss her! Her newest album “Scorpion in the Story” is a 13 part tale of individuals she met while on tour. Don’t miss Tori on today’s show!
Holly Kirsten is back with us and we are blessed to have her. The year she is having is incredible! She has recently returned from an extended stay “down under” and is now playing like a crazy girl all over town, writing and performing and appearing on our show! Holly is a very talented artist and when not performing, she also gives piano and voice lessons. You can find her here today, and at La Carumba in Scottsdale!
Also on the show, we are pleased to introduce Michael Levin! Michael is the son of two Phoenix Symphony musicians and has a distinctive style on his instrument of choice, the cello, as well as keyboards, guitar and bass. He is a songwriter as well, and has been working on many projects harkening back to his classical roots, but also contemporary stylings that are expressed in his newest CD, which is in production! Michael will bring the band along today and we will get a sample!
